On The Hunt For Halloween Chapter 9 - I lit the black flame candle ....

AND NOW IT'S OFFICIALLY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!

Spooky season has now begun! I've spent today unpacking all my Halloween boxes and putting the decorations up in my room, culminating in the lighting of my Black Flame Candle (From Hocus Pocus).

As you can see there were a lot of boxes

Utter chaos 😂

Before I started with the decorating I had to nip to Next and found this adorable ghost.

And this plant I've named Gregory

Right back to the decorating! I've gone for a similar look to last year with various themed shelves and counter tops. I haven't got all the lights on the go yet as in my vast and unparalleled intelligence I forgot to buy batteries ..... So there's a couple of minor things to do but in the meantime here we go!

This is how things look as a whole, again there'll be more lights to go on.

Not technically decorations but I moved my crystals and moon across to here and added a pumpkin-scented candle

These are the rest of the decorations -

TV stand

Wreaths galore!

My bedside table has a Jack O'Lantern and a cauldron candle.

I hope you guys like what I've done so far. I'll write about any other bits that I find or spooky fun that I have.

On The Hunt For Halloween Chapter 8 - I've decided on my costume!

This year's costume!

Yep it's true! Usually I'm crap at actually putting together a costume for Halloween as I normally run out of time prepping decorations and party plans and normally rely on some goth clothes and my normal spooky make up. Last year I had some last minute inspiration to go as Gothic Alice In Wonderland.

This year I had the inspiration during one of Chris, Vana & I's 'Anime & Formula 1' Sundays when we watched KiKi's Delivery Service which is a film about a young witch and her cat companion JiJi.

So I've ordered a red bow and a JiJi figure, I have plenty of black dresses and I just need a broom (I saw some in Tiger last week). I'm pretty impressed at my getting a costume sorted before the decorations are even up!

On the subject of decorations I've been to a few more shops trying to scope out some spookiness and I'm sad to report that the Eastbourne branches of Poundland and Wilko have been pretty rubbish this year. They've only got tiny shelf spaces and are filling the rest of the shelves with Christmas already. Which is a shame as I got a fair few bits in both last year.

All that Poundland had to offer today

This may well go up in my room

You can never have enough fabric

These were from Marks & Spencers

I went into Asda on Sunday and they were filling up the shelves so I didn't want to get in their way snapping photos.

I got this very comfy cushion

I'll be going back to have a look in the next week or so and I'll report back!

One shop that did have all it's Halloween stocked and ready to go was Home Bargains. They had a huge area devoted to Spooky Season.

Even if Christmas was trying to invade 😡

I was really impressed with their range as you can see from these photos and videos.

This is what I got -

I used to have some of these but they finally died last year (bearing in mind they were £1 about 4 years ago I can't complain!)

This will be perfect for gin drinking!

Their soap dispensers are always super cute

Although KiKi doesn't really wear a cape I thought this would give my costume an extra witchy vibe and I can wear in years to come (plus I'm a practicing witch I can wear a cloak anytime I like)

Speaking of witchiness I popped over to my favourite witchcraft supply store Moonchild Spiritual Emporium to get a candle for my Samhain (aka Halloween) altar (This was my altar last year).

Samhain Candle

This Pumpkin Spice Perfume smells amazing

I haven't put together my Samhain Altar yet as I have a working on there at the moment but I shall put some photos up when I do.

Last up we have one of my other favourite subjects ..... make up! It's gotten quite chilly here and the trees have started to turn so I thought it would be fun to experiment with 'Autumn eyes'.

Paired with black lippie obviously (my hair is pretty light at the moment but fear not, the Halloween colours will be back in action soon!)

I used the Sally palette from Revolution Make-Up's Nightmare Before Christmas collaboration from a couple of years back (more from them shortly).

I used the shades Pumpkin Patch, Romantic & Vampire Teddy

I finished it off with this Fenty Beauty lipstick in shade 'Clapback'

Revolution tends to do a Halloween type collaboration at this time of year and this year it has a Beetlejuice collaboration. I got the "It's Showtime" palette and it's lovely.

One of my favourite YouTubers Emily Boo did a review of some of the other products (I may need to go back for the eyeliner pen after seeing her use it).

Thanks for reading to the end of this super long blog (well done for making it!). I've been prepping my shelves ready for decorating my room so watch this space for decoration spam ....
