This past weekend I reignited my love of camping with a trip to Chiddingly with Mum, Dad and of course Eos. The last time that I've slept in the great outdoors was at RIAT 2018 so another trip was well overdue.
The campsite was lovely and peaceful and we were camped next to the most beautiful meadow that I spent lots of time in and was the location of some epic Eos zoomies ....
Time for a nap under the caravan |
The grass was a beautiful purpley colour |
Speaking of flying I got some good plane geeking moments in with a Spitfire flypast and the Airbus A380 flying low over the campsite (we were on the Gatwick flightpath).
There are some lovely walks to go on around the campsite, because it was pretty warm we opted for a short one around the local church and cricket ground. The church is beautiful and dates back all the way to the 11th Century.
Our walk also took us to the Millennium Garden which is full of sculptures including this lady who I was very drawn to. She had a strong witchy, pagan vibe and I fell in love with her.
Another,er, attraction (we'll go with that) of the village is the local pub The Six Bells there's always a lovely atmosphere and the garden is gorgeous, I recommend their cheesy, chilli nachos!
We visited just after a brief rain shower and I got to photograph rain drops on flowers which is always one of my favourite subjects. |
you'll remember if you read either of my RIAT 2018 or 2017 blogs Dad loves to decorate our pitch with solar powered lights and this time was no different.
We were also treated to a huge moon one night that kindly paused above the lights for me to get these cool photos (if I say so myself)-
This morning Mum and I took Eos to the beach for a paddle in the sea.
